About Us

All Things New

Wait...Welcome to the amalgamation of two independent voices of electronic music. Errr...Welcome to Central Station and TranZfusion but as Central Station.

You get the idea.

Welcome to our new site. We've been sorting through our affairs and thought we'd give you kids a new site to have a play on.

For us, it made sense to combine the powers of Central with the trusted voice of TranZfusion. Honestly, it's another step forward in ensuring we stay true to our megalomaniacal ways. Well, sort of. While we do enjoy being world beaters, we also enjoy providing you crazy kids with the complete package for all things electronic. It's always been about the music and, now that we have fused both sites together, we'll be able to go elevate the standard to an even bigger scale.

BIGGER!

Anyhoo, after working so hard in merging the two sites together - we literally crammed three months of work into three weeks - we've gone a bit bonkers, so we thought we'd get this newsletter out to let you know that both the Central Station and TranZfusion will no longer be the same. In fact, this is probably the last time you'll see the TranZfusion brand - you've got it for another three months, but after that, it'll be filtered into another project we can't wait to elaborate on.

From both Central and TranZfusion teams, we send each and every one of you a heartfelt thanks for making our sites what they are today. Without you scooping out our thoughts, we wouldn't be where we are today. Cheers tah for that.

For now, enjoy the new site.

About Us

Central Station

To generations of young Australian music fans, the name Central Station has always meant one thing: dance. Central Station Records is an institution, from its retail stores across the country, its record labels, its chart hits, right down to its iconic logo. From the very outset, the story of Central Station Records has been intertwined with the history of dance music in Australia.

Central Station was there at the start, a facilitator, a driving force in the growth of the local dance and club culture. Last year Central Station Records turned 30, a remarkable and rare achievement for any dance music associated business anywhere in the world, let alone all the way Down Under.

Dance music has undergone infinite change since the initial funk and disco explosions of the '70s. From house to hip-hop, and all the hundreds of genres in between, it has developed into the defining sound of our age. Central Station Records was there from the beginning.

Today, Central Station Records and its sub labels Grindin’ (Hip Hop & Reggae), Hardwax (commercial Hip Hop) & Tinted (House) are part of a wider whole, the destra Media Group. This puts the music industry institution that is CSR in a great position to embrace and utilise all the changes and challenges the music industry is experiencing now and in the future.

TranZfusion

TranZfusion is Australia's original electronic music site. Created in 1995 as a means for testing music streaming, the site fast became the leading electronic music destination in the Southern Hemisphere.

With an innovative spirit and good humour, countless music enthusiasts volunteer their time to present the electronic music loving community with vibrant, thoughtful and upfront information about the social scene to which they belong.

By embracing the ever-changing music scene and technology of tomorrow, plus a committed team fuelled by outrageous passion and a never-ending supply of ideas, we are intent on moving to the forefront of a new movement.
