Why We Love Grazzhopper

It has a footy team that nobody can beat, the Great Ocean Road on its doorstep, and now a music festival that invites The Rapture, Xzibit and the rather excellent Shihad to its stages.

And being just an hour's drive from Melbourne, Geelong is shaping up as a surprisingly good place to house a big fat paddock party. The organizers of Grazzhopper say their plan is to put the town 'back on the map', with an annual festival that covers most musical tastes.

A main stage, indie stage and dance stage will house the substantial line up of local and international acts, at Berkley Park on the Melbourne side of Geelong.

You will also have the chance to check out some Geelong talent, with a competition running to choose an outstanding local band to join the line-up (so far it's ,B.Tantalum just ahead of brilliantly named Frowning Clowns).

All sounds good so far.

The only issue we can see is that poor old Grinspoon won't get to see The Rapture perform as they will be playing the same set times.
