Tickled Pink #12 - with Jamie Stevens (Infusion)

Author: Tickled Pink
Wednesday, December 20, 2006
Finding some time between jetting the globe and writing killer tunes, Infusion's Jamie Stevens is Flavour Of The Month, playing a very rare DJ set.

Jamie's passion for music began at a young age when he started collecting rare records and remixes of New Order, The Cure and Depeche Mode in high school without thinking about their place in clubs or in the hands of DJs. He bought them simply because he loved the music - this was the music he wanted to write.

He started buying synths and making music in the mid-'80s when he met Manuel Sharrad. Both realised they shared a love of electronically-produced sounds. In '94, Infusion was born.

Since forming one of Australia's finest exports of dance music - the boys have travelled and played at Fabric London various times, Creamfields UK, Moscow, Buenos Aires and Brazil, Tokyo, Sweden, China, Budapest - they have received praise from the likes of Pete Tong, Sasha and Digweed, Dave Seaman through to Layo & Bushwacka and Adam Freeland.

As a solo artist, Jamie produced Adam Freeland's debut artist album, then went on to co-write with Junkie XL on his "Broadcast..." album. He also has the bootlegs of "Running Up That Hill" by Kate Bush and "Pagan Poetry" by Bjork to add to his impressive discography.

His taste in music ranges far and wide, from deep tech minimalism, groove-based dirty techno to raw garage rock, beautiful melodic deepness to hip-shaking funk-fuelled breaks... In other words, he is passionate about good music - music that stands out and grabs your attention.

Catch Jamie playing with Tickled Pink Vixens, Danni B, Miss Chris and Sass.
