But that's what 125 or so artists do each and every Easter, as they perform across 5 stages at Peter Noble's blues and roots extravaganza in Byron Bay.
They are joined by around 80,000 of NSW's most relaxed revelers, who spend the bulk of their 5 day opus between bands, beers and the beautiful beaches that provide a tantalizing distraction from the music.
In the past, headline acts have included the likes of Ben Harper, James Brown, Wilco, Jack Johnson and Michael Franti, who seems to spend even more time attending Australian festivals than the ubiquitous Little Red.
Details of the 2009 event have yet to be finalized, although rumours suggest there are big names booked for the event's 20th anniversary.
Organizers have also purchased a farm 10kms from the centre of town, providing them with the first permanent Bluesfest site since the festival began in 1990.
It's the most fun you'll have singing the blues, and there are more than the standard 12 bars to keep you going.
Top Tip: Tents are great and all very 'Byron', but camper vans mean you don't wake up in a different field if it rains.
