Tennis anyone-

If you're a lazy sloth that can't be stuffed leaving the comfort of your living room to play tennis, then Top Spin 3 is perfect for you!  I used to play tennis every Monday night after work. Now I stop by the bottle-o on a Monday night then settle in for a match or four at home.

With Wimbledon fresh in my memory, it's a great timing for 2K to release this killer sporting sim. Top Spin 3 gives players a visually and physically realistic tennis experience, great player visuals and even the dynamic weather changes (the clouds, they move!). These features, combined with a comprehensive character creator (so you can spend six hours trying to make a player that looks like yourself) and career mode, make for a very exciting new Top Spin instalment.

Top Spin 3 includes more than 25 of the world's top tennis superstars including Roger Federer, Andy Roddick and Maria Sharapova and brings back some greats like Boom Boom (Boris) Becker. To some fans dismay, our mate Raph Nadal is only available on the PS3 version of this game. Whoopee to you If you own a PS3. ANYWAY, Top Spin 3 also has all-new action-packed features including signature player animations and expressions; revamped audio and enhanced crowd reaction. All this attention to detail adds up and makes for a smashing title (pun intended).

One of the best things you can do in Top Spin 3, as mentioned earlier, is create your would-be champion with the in-depth character creator. In fact, the creator can craft everything from eye shape to jaw line and you can tweak these things to your heart's content until you come up with a player who best resembles what you wished you looked like. Another notable option is you can even choose how much you want to grunt. A good grunt and little attitude is sometimes all it takes to win the psychological game over your opponent.

As you might expect from a tennis title, the career mode in this game is your typical rags to riches story, starting in your local neighbourhood court. With successive wins you can then work up your stats and improve certain aspects of your game and build up your ranking.

The game has updated its graphics from its predecessor and now you'll be able to see clothes ruffling and swaying with players' movements and their hair flopping about. If your player is knackered then the impressive sweat engine kicks in and you can literally see it running down their face and seeping into the clothes - disgustingly realistic!

All in all, the game is an impressive step up from its last instalment and the game-play and graphics are fantastic. Top Spin fans will be no doubt very happy with this title, as will tennis fans in general. Top Spin 3 gets an excited three thumbs up from me.
