Alex Silverfish, Tasty Tim and Princess Julia are just some of the resident DJs at a new weekly Saturday electro/italo-disco event called Save The Robots, which opens next weekend (Saturday 11) at Fire in Vauxhall. (South Lambeth Road)

The club is intended to appeal to 'all the nocturnal malcontents in London',cllub promoter Jim Stanton promised this week, adding "we'll be the only electro club with a 'dark room' in London" (suggesting it's likely to be most popular with gays). Finnish scene queens Tatu and Mikki also host one of the rooms suggesting over-the-top dressing up is likely to be the order of the day.

On the same night, pioneering electroclash event 21st Century City Rockers return to their original home at Cynthia's Robotic Bar, to kick off a series of monthly parties taking place on the second Saturday of each month.

Original residents Damian Lazarus, FC Kahuna spin on the first night, alongside JoJo De Freq, Mingo-Go and Superpitcher.
