DJ Hell & T Raumschmiere Escape From Hospital

Gigolo Records chief DJ Hell returns to the decks this weekend, some four weeks after cancelling a whole series of dates after suffering a sciatica attack and losing touch and sensitivity in his hands.

"Looks like Hell will be back in the saddle this Saturday for the Belfast gig at Shine," a press officer for Hell told Skrufff this week.

"This will be his first gig since he went in to hospital."

Hell's recovery coincided with equally good news for fellow Berliner T Raumschmiere, who also pulled out of several dates recently, after being admitted to hospital with appendicitis. However, a Mute Records press officer downplayed his condition this week, telling Skrufff 'it isn't really a story.'

"The appendicitis was only suspected and he has now recovered," she explained.

"We've just confirmed that he'll be playing with Liars on Monday at the Mean Fiddler (May 10) and The Rapture at the Astoria on Tuesday (May 11).

Ironically, before his music career took off T Raumschmiere worked extensively in hospitals to avoid being called up to serve in the army.

"After school I did the Civil Service thing, instead of National Service. In Germany you can work in a hospital instead, for example, so I did that for a year," he told Skrufff last year.

"It was super-hard, and I never learned how to do a real job," he added.
