DJ Mag Declare War On Ex-Dance Hacks

DJ magazine published a ferocious tirade against The Guardian's "dance is dead' Alexis Petridis this week, also dragging former Muzik editor turned NME chief Conor McNicholas into their onslaught against the one-time Mixmag staff writer.

"Just like that other turd Conor McNicholas, you seem to take great pleasure in pissing over a culture that helped launch your career in journalism," DJ snarled.

"And just like him, you boast of being an indie-kid turned dance music letch because you fell in love with drugs. That makes you a scab," they spat.

DJ's angry attack appeared just days after ex-Muzik writer turned NME hack Duncan Bell called fellow former Muzik editor turned Radio 1 DJ Rob Da Bank a "muzak-spinning Ravey Davey', reflecting increasing tensions within Britain's much troubled music press. Da Bank, however, retained a dignified silence this week, presumably so he could concentrate on his own rapidly escalating vendetta against Danish producer Soren Rasted.

According to a press release issued by Da Bank's publicists this week, the Danish star (a one time member of Barbie popsters Aqua who's not believed to have written for Muzik) has offended him by using the recording name Lazyboy, a moniker that Da Bank already uses with production partner Dan Carey.

"As much as Dan & I admire Soren's pioneering work with Aqua, we feel he's taking a liberty by using the Lazyboy name," said Da Bank in the statement. "There's only room for one Lazyboy in this game, and we were clearly here first!"

Lazyboy (Rob Da Bank and Dan Carey)'s next single 'Police Dogs Bonfire' is released on Sunday Best Recordings on 3rd January.
