Hykoo Takes the Path Less Travelled on New LP

Promising to be a solid mix of "emotion, attitude and wit", Hykoo's dextrous flow's are sure to impress hip hop virgins and fans alike.
Hykoo cites his biggest early influence as Cypress Hill and was writing his first rhymes at just 11 years of age! Hearing this, The Awakenings crew took Hykoo under their wing and nurtured his first release, 'Pigeon Whole Hearted' back in 2003. It led to a collaboration with fellow crew member, Osinaka titled 'Rap Songs Meow'.
Featuring collaborations with Awakenings mates Nick Sweepah and Julez, as well as Pugslee Atomz, Prime, Okwerdz, Cyphanetik, C-Rayz Walz and Mac Lethal plus many more. '
The Crooked Unseen LP' is a twisted snapshot of Hykoo's left of centre genius. In 'Autorock', the rapper dishes up self-assured braggadocio, whilst 'Bump' is the playful Jamaican-flavoured head nodder, and self-titled 'Hykoo' exhibits the MCs smoother than smooth flow. Hykoo isn't afraid of touching on more emotional themes either, with 'Star Gazing', displaying his softer side, whilst the D'n'B-edged 'Daybreaker' tells the tale of his bipolar breakdowns.
An accomplished performer, as well as an MC, he's previously opened for Sage Francis, Tim Dog and locals players Pegz, The Cat Empire, Weapon X, Ken Hell, Phrase, Reason and The Herd among ohers. Hykoo's live shows are as dynamic as his recorded raps. The 22-year-old invites crowd participation and will often gather people on stage to participate in the lively show.
The enigmatic young rapper may have been compared to many in the game, but Hykoo's style is all his own; satirical, intelligent and unmistakably street, he's set to further raise the standards of a scene already spoilt with world-beating talent.
