Cafe Mambo Ibiza 2006
Compiled by Pete Gooding & Afterlife

As always, pre-club sunset moments in Ibiza during 2006's summer season are best found at the legendary Cafe Mambo. Beautifully located on the waterfront and celebrated as THE place to kick back to some sublime sounds before the night's activity takes shape, Mambo is revered for bringing together a unique international crowd and some of the world's favourite DJs and club promoters for the ultimate pre-parties.

Produced & marketed by Defected In The House, this compilation features long serving Mambo resident and Ibiza institution Pete Gooding (crowned the island's best DJ in recent years) who is joined by chillout don Steve Miller, better known as Afterlife.Together they have dug deep in their collections to compile 2 CDs of the finest laidback house and down tempo Balearic beats on the planet.

From well known names to undiscovered gems this is the true sound of sunset Ibiza, Mambo style. A timeless selection comprising pure chill, leftfield lushness and soul drenched electronica, this year's album features full length unmixed versions of all tracks, allowing the quality to shine and especially appealing to the growing band of CD DJs. A perfect antidote to the slew of Ibiza house collections and a record to revisit again and again, from summer relaxing to post clubbing chill.

Pete Gooding and Ibiza go way back -he became Mambo's resident DJ in 1996, going on to soundtrack countless sunsets with his marathon sets and growing famous for his impeccable musical taste. Afterlife are best known for the Balearic infused classic chill album 'Future 3000' & their new album 'Afterlife Lounge" , and production don Steve Miller is always in demand for his magic down tempo studio touch.

Together the pair have created an album which perfectly encapsulates the vibe of Ibiza's famous sunset venue. It includes tracks from De Phazz, Cinematic Orchestra, Max Sedgely, Coldcut, Pete Haywood, Black Science Orchestra, The Lovers, Dolphin Boy, Kwanzaa Posse & a Dj Jazzy Jeff remix of The Tempations classic Papa Was a Rolling Stone.
