Sydney and Melbourne respectively will be hosting two very special Sound Relief events on Saturday 14 March, with the majority of the proceeds going toward the Victorian bushfire relief effort. Heading the Melbourne event at the MCG will be chart sensations Kings of Leon, while Coldplay top the bill at Sydney’s SCG, each capping off a spectacular line-up of supporting artists by playing 3-4 songs apiece, with Chris Martin and chums opting for an acoustic set. Melbourne support features Augie March, Bliss N Eso with Paris Wells, Gabriella Cilmi, Hunters & Collectors, Kasey Chambers & Shane Nicholson with Troy Cassar-Daly, Jet, Jack Johnson, Liam Finn, Midnight Oil, Paul Kelly, Split Enz and Wolfmother, with proceeds going exclusively to the Red Cross Victorian Bushfire Appeal. The SCG, meanwhile, will welcome Eskimo Joe, Hoodoo Gurus, Icehouse, Jet, Josh Pyke, Little Birdy, The Presets, Wolfmother, You Am I and more, with funds being split between the Red Cross and The Premier's Disaster Relief Fund Appeal in QLD to aid the victims of the Queensland floods. Tickets are priced $75 and will go on-sale at Ticketek on Wednesday 4 March.
